SURFACE-MOUNTED LIFTS

There are various models of surface-mounted lifts and different uses for each. These lifts are distinguishable by their electric motor and the way they are bolted to the ground.

Surface-mounted car lifts are typically found in two models: 2-post and 4-post. Both are most commonly ran by a hydraulic system that utilizes a pump pushing fluid to the hydraulic cylinders which cause the lift to rise.

The 2-post mounted lift uses a frame-engaging system that provides security as well as accesibility for services such as tire changing.

On the other hand, a 4-post lift uses two runways to drive all tires on, allowing full, secure access underneath the vehicle, but not to the wheels or tires. They can, however, be used with an alignment system for wheel alignments.
